Serbian national team did a great job this summer by winning three medals – the bronze at European Games in Baku, silver at the World Cup in Japan (promoted to 2016 Olympic Games) and now, bronze at the Eurovolley in the Netherlands and Belgium. Stefana Veljković, the middle blocker of Serbia, reviewed the last two rounds of Eurovolley as well as previous tournaments.

„Playing against Russia a day before the 3rd place match was hard because they are so strong. So, it was so difficult to play the 3rd place match, but I’m glad that we started the game strongly. I’m very happy because of this medal and everything else,“ Veljković said to WoV reporter in Rotterdam.

„We had a little meeting before the match (against Turkey) because we were sad after the game with Russia. So, we had to be strong against them, because it was very important for us. After all, a medal is medal,“ Serbian blocker explained how her team recovered after the semifinals.

„All 14 players in our squad are great and we are happy to have all 14 players on a top level. So, we are never in trouble. We are gathered for entire summer. The World Cup in Japan was so hard and that’s why I think that this (bronze medal) is like a present for us,“ Veljković praised her teammates.
