On the second day of the second round qualifier for the 2013 CEV Volleyball European Championship – Women taking place in Apeldoorn, the Dutch Volleyball Federation organized a symposium for officials on the cycling court of the local Omnisport Centre.

More than 300 national referees and officials attended the first national official symposium held in this form that stands as the official kick-off of the upcoming domestic season. They attended two workshops about the official Volleyball rules, listened to the stories and anecdotes told by international referees and followed clinics about different subjects, for example the so-called positive coaching. The sessions were closed with a joint dinner.
