Kazakhstan opened the set with a service error that rewarded China with the first point. Kazakhstan pushed and switched the momentum to their side by excellent plays that intimidated China. China’s Head Coach Yu Juemin was alarmed at the worsening playing condition of his players and called a timeout which was an unproductive timeout call because China gave away another point to their opponent upon entering the first technical timeout.
However, China overtook the lead from Kazakhstan later. Kazakh coach Gutor Oleksandr made some substitutions but had little effect on the fate of the game and froze the score of 25-20 in favour of China.
China eased up the tension in the second set and commanded a big lead that made the Kazakh girls looked helpless. Hui Ruoqi’s and Zeng Chunlei’s aggressive attacks were too burdensome to the Kazakh defence.
Hui and Zeng’s tandem seemed failsafe as China secured big leads and victories in the second and third sets. Hui and Zeng scored 16 points and 17 points, respectively.
