WoV Player Of The Year – Ngapeth and Zhu still holding the top spot, Giannelli now has more votes than Anderson!

In the women’s competition, Zhu Ting is far in front of the others, Tijana Bošković is at the 2nd place, while Natalia Zilio Pereira is currently placed at the 3rd spot.

Tijana Bošković (Eczacibasi VitrA) – 6,014

Natalia Zilio Pereira (Rexona Sesc/Fenerbahce) – 805

It is much more exciting in the men’s competition. Earvin Ngapeth is still leading the race, but Simone Giannelli and Matt Anderson are just behind. It is interesting to mention that Giannelli has taken over the 2nd spot from Anderson!

Earvin Ngapeth (Modena) – 18,014

Simone Giannelli (Trentino) – 12,546

Matt Anderson (Zenit) – 11,337

A poll with a Chinese Player can not be fair; China with 1.3 billion potential votes!

I suppose only very few citizens in China, but also in Brazil, Russia, Japan, France etc can communicate in English, even less follow this site. Thus there should not be fear that they will influence this competition considerable… In future perhaps FIVB will create WoV sites in other languages and then it could be such a risk, but not now.. On other hand English speaking countries, and Commonwealth ones, are not too keen in this sport with some exceptions… On them should be focused the attention to promote volleyball.
