Six years ago, I was graduating USC and starting my career as a professional volleyball player. Now, countless friends, memories and a bronze medal later, I’ve decided to hang them up. Volleyball has been part of my life since the 3rd grade and for the last 10 years, it’s been most of my identity. It’s allowed me to travel the world, meet people and see places that have changed my life. I will be forever grateful to the people who helped me along the way. It’s been an incredible journey and now it’s time to start a new one. As much as I love to travel, I couldn’t be more excited to put some roots down with Blair and grow our life together. New career starts today…here we go!!! – writes Murphy Troy on his official Instagram page.

Troy is a former member of the U.S. national team, bronze medalist from the Olympic Games in Rio, World League winner (2014). In the season 2014/2015, the outside hitter was officially the best scorer of Polish volleyball league. In a jersey of Lotos Trefl Gdansk, he won one national cup and one Super Cup.
