The top clubs of the 2020/21 Polish men’s and women’s championship have made a decision with which they plan to overcome the eventual coronavirus crisis.

The presidents of the PlusLiga and TAURON Liga participants have unanimously decided that in case of the absence of some teams due to the coronavirus, the other teams that aren’t affected can play their matches in advance if agree on that with each other. The Polish top divisions thus found a way to keep the pace of the championship in the ongoing season. There were several postponements of games in the men’s competition since the beginning of the season.

Paweł Zagumny, the President of the Polska Liga Siatkówki, explained such a decision as a desire to keep fans in the stands and in front of the TV to have the opportunity to watch the games as often as possible. He added that the league organization will do everything possible to complete this season and award the titles of the Polish champions.
