The composition of the participants remained unchanged compared to last year. Novosibirsk brought two teams, Lokomotiv and SDYUSHOR-Lokomotiv. Yenisei Krasnoyarsk and Kuzbass Kemerovo completed the quartet of participants.
In the first day there were two semi-finals game. In the first match players of Yenisei created a small sensation.
After being behind 0-2 against Lokomotiv, the participant of the next season’s Champions League, players led by Sergey Belyansky not only managed to catch up but also to snatch victory in a tiebreaker 3-2. Lokomotiv started match with this line-up: Butko, Misin, Leonenko, Diviš, Kozlov, Golubev and Astashenkov).
Moroz later replaced Misin, and instead Leonenko second team legionnaire Camejo went to the court. Cuban managed to revive the Lokomotiv‘s game in the fourth zone but not enough to win.
In today’s final Yenisei will meet Kuzbass Kemerovo who without any complications beat the SDYUSHOR Novosibirsk 3:0 (25:14, 25:20, 25:18).
During the meeting the French coach on Kuzbass bench Eric N’Gapeth rotated players, managing to send to the court almost the entire squad.
