Russia captain Sergey Makarov: It was a better match for us than yesterday’s one. The three points were the most important thing for us to be able to qualify for the finals. Now our job is to recover and to play well in the Final Six.
Russia coach Andrey Voronkov: I’d like to thank the organisers for such a good welcome. We counted on two victories this weekend and we were prepared for a tough competition. It happened yesterday, but not today because the Bulgarian team is young and they lack of experience. They couldn’t play that well but they have a great future.
Bulgaria coach Nayden Naydenov: I’d like to congratulate the Russian team for their victory and wish them success in the World League Final Six. We couldn’t find our game today but I saw a spark of light in my team. After yesterday’s good game, we were not able to play that well again. Most importantly for me is that I saw a big drive in my players’ eyes and this gives us some hope for the upcoming games.
Bulgaria captain Tsvetan Sokolov: We didn’t complete the task our coach gave us, we didn’t give our best and I’m sorry for that. There was fear in our game. I want to congratulate the Russian team and wish them good luck for the finals. Now it’s important for us to take good rest and get over all losses and start preparing for the next matches.
