Olympic volleyball champion Russia will be without the experienced libero Aleksey Verbov and middle blocker Andrey Ashev at the World Cup in Japan.

Both players are injured and they will miss the tournament.
Aleksey Verbov injured his knee but not required surgery; his participation in the European Championship is also in question.
On the other side Andrey Ashev operated his Achilles tendon and for sure he will miss World Cup and European Championship.
