ECH W: Russia ran over Bulgaria, only six points for Vasileva & co. in first set!

First point at Eurovolley went to Russia. Marichev’s side started playing very good and after 2-1 lead they made 5-0 scoring rund for 7:1. There was no way for Bulgarian girls to make comeback.

Russia continued with well organized attacks and blocks as well, so after a few minutes they had 16:4 lead. The head coach of Bulgaria Dragan Nesic tried to wake up his team with some substitutions but it didn’t work.

Even after the second TTO, Russia didn’t allow the rival to score a point (19:4). Ombochaeva and Kosheleva were smashing the rival in these moments. Nikolova was the player who finally stopped scoring run of Russia(19:5). This part of the match ended quickly for Marichev’s side 26:6!

In the second set, Bulgaria played much better but at the second TTO, Russian girls again made six points of advantage (16:10). Later, that advantage went up to eight points (19:11). Again, Russia didn’t have too much problems to take the set.

Bulgaria couldn’t find any solution for strong block of Russia. They were struggling to score a point. At the very end of the third set, Russian girls had small crisis and Nesic’s team manage to decrease the lead of the rival from 13-19 to 18-20. Later they were so close, after saving five set points of the rival. But, that was only a good reaction by Bulgaria. That’s all. Russia won this game…
