Two players of the Russian team Gazprom-Yugra Surgut, the Olympic champion Dmitriy Ilinykh and Pavel Zaytsev, were admitted to the hospital after an outdoor fight.

Contracts of both players will be put on hold by Yugra as long as they do not recover from injuries.

„After losing 3-0 against Belogorie (six days ago), they went out to have some fun and apparently, they offended someone somewhere. Anyway, they don’t want any investigation to be conducted on the matter and they don’t accuse anyone. They are to blame and they apologized to me. They are great athletes, but they need to be professionals and shouldn’t to hang out at night. There is club’s regime and they broke it. Thank God, Ilinykh’s life is not threatened,“ said Yugra’s coach Rafael Khabibulin after yesterday’s match versus Dinamo Moscow (2-3).

According to some Russian sources, Ilinykh ended up in intensive care, while Zaytsev is in trauma center, so it is expected that he will recover faster.
