Zenit Kazan – team
The Russian team flew to Qatar on Thursday in good spirits. In the last match of the Super League they defeated Ural Ufa 3:2 (22:25, 25:19, 25:22, 17:25, 20:18).
Maxim Mikhailov: “I think that my ace in the fifth set decided the winner. Until then we were playing point for point.”
Zenit leads in the Russian Super League with 9 points in four games and 12-7 in sets. Ural Ufa is the second with 9 and 11-6.
“We had a good start in the league. Now we head for the Club World Championship” Mikhailov said.
Zenit won the Russian Super Cup. Players of the club have already show that they can come back even when down 2:0.
On the Club World Championship in Group B are: PGE Skra Bechatów, Zenit Kazan, Zamalek Cairo and Al-Arabi Doha. In group A: Diatec Trentino, Tigres Leon, Sada Cruzeiro and the local Al-Rayyan.
The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals.
