EL M: Croatia adds another win to its count to eye final four spot

Croatia remains the undisputed leader in prelim Pool C of the 2013 CEV Volleyball European League – Men after the guys mentored by head coach Igor Simuncic edged Belarus 3:1 on Saturday in Bursa. In the other match of the day Israel upset the home heroes of Turkey.

Israel scored their third victory in the competition by catching a good start right from the early phases of the first set (8:3, 12:6); Turkey tried to come back and closed the gap to two points (20:18) but it was not enough and Israel could cash the provisional 1:0 (21-18).

Turkey went up 4:1 in the second set before Israel leveled at 6 all and could get the narrowest margin at the technical time-out (12:11). Turkey evened the score at 17 but Israel did not make any mistakes in the final section of this set to make it 21-18 and 2:0.

Israel showed good momentum also in the third set (5:1) and did lead the operations 12:6 at the technical time-out. With some good play in defense Turkey fought their way back (14:12) but Israel showed great combinations in attack to wrap it up at 21-17 and finish it off in three sets.
