TUR W: VakıfBank dominate Game 5 of finals to extend reign over Sultanlar Ligi to 4th consecutive season

For the 4th time in a row, VakıfBank have won the title of the Turkish Women’s Volleyball Championship.

In the last match of the long series of the 2021/22 Misli.com Sultanlar Ligi playoff finals, Game 5, Giovanni Guidetti’s team surpassed Fenerbahçe Opet, who had the lead in the series of 2-1 and went 2-0 in sets in the 4th match before witnessing a great comeback of VakıfBank, 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-20). Game 5 was deprived of uncertainty with the exception of the second set in which the yellow and blacks recovered from 16-19 to definitively bury the ambitions of the players commanded by Zoran Terzić and claim the 12th national title.

The best scorer of the match was VakıfBank’s Swede Isabelle Haak with 19 points, while Brazilian Gabriela Guimarães ’Gabi’ tallied 18 and made 73% reception (11 digs, 64% perfect). The MVP award of the finals went in the hands of the VakıfBank middle blocker Zehra Güneş.
