Yesterday, the final match of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship 2022 was played between the teams of VakıfBank Spor Kulübü and Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano at the Antalya Indoor Sports Hall with a capacity of 10,000 people, which was almost packed. In the second set of the match, the two demonstrators opened banners that read “Women, life, freedom #iranprotests“ and “Mahsa Amini #iranianwomen“ in English. After the demonstrators opened the protest banner, TVF officials intervened and took the two people out by force. One of these supporters, the Iranian man Amirshaghaghi (it’s not known whether it’s his first or last name), reported an assault after the incident. In it, it was stated that he had rashes on his arm and hand, which were determined after the medical check.

Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian lady, died inexplicably on September 16, 2022, in a hospital in Tehran, Iran. She was detained by the religious morality police of the Iranian government for reportedly not wearing the hijab according to government regulations. They said that Amini suffered a heart attack at the police station, collapsed, and slipped into a coma before being sent to a hospital. However, eyewitnesses, including women who were jailed alongside Amini, said that the latter had been brutally abused before passing away, which triggered protests all over the country.
