VILLA CORTESE dreams of quarterfinals after home win against Dinamo
Dinamo started well with great play for Nataliya Goncharova but the players of VILLA CORTESE were able to find momentum by scoring quite many points with their service and block.
The guests from Russia displayed their full potential in set 3 and 4 thereby calling for the tie-break.
There the home heroines were able to bring it home with Canadian Sarah Pavan being the real match winner for the club based in the outskirts of Milan.
“We made many stupid mistakes and we were surprised by the tactics used by their second setter, Giulia Pincerato” says the head coach of Dinamo MOSCOW, Boris Kolchin.
“She really played well tonight but we will have to take our lesson from these five sets to prepare the return game in the best way” he adds.
“We played a great match and with the attitude and approach I was longing for. I was informed only this morning that our first setter Lindsay Berg was not available for the match but I am proud that we were able to get past this problem. We are ready for another battle next week in Moscow” says home mentor Marcello Abbondanza.
