Three teams still in contention for European ticket in Bar

With one round of play still to go, Greece tops the charts with 10 points after scoring on Saturday a 3:1 win (23-25, 25-19, 25-17, and 25-16) over Sweden with the guys from Athens (pictured) facing some problems only in the opening set before they asserted their absolute supremacy.

The home guys of Montenegro suffered their fourth setback in Bar thereby losing all chances to make it to the third-round qualifiers scheduled for mid July. This time Montenegro lost in straight sets to the Finns (17-25, 15-25, 14-25) who are currently ranked second with 9 points.

Italy, currently third with 8 points, downed Belarus in straight sets on Saturday (25-19, 25-12, and 25-21) and still has a chance to make it to the final round of the Championship depending on the results of the last day where the young “Azzurri” will be playing the hosts of Montenegro.
