These are candidates for award Sportsman of the Year in Russia:

Sergey Tetyukhin, Age: 37 years

What has done in the past year? With the volleyball national team of Russia won the “gold” at the London Olympics. And until now he was just a famous volleyball player, after thet he become a legend.

Ivan Ukhov, Age: 27 years

What has done in the past year? The most hilarious Russian athlete managed to lose his own shirt before the start of competition – and won the Olympics in jersey of Silnov Andrew (who won in the end only 12th place), setting a record in the high jump.

Anton Shipulin, Age: 25 years

What has done in the past year? The only one of the Russian biathletes who won a medal (bronze) at the World Championships.

Alexey Shved, Age: 24 year

What has done in the past year? Played basketball at the Olympics (won “bronze”) and gone across the ocean to play in the NBA for the team, Minnesota Timberwolves, which quickly became one of the key players.

Alexander Legkov, Age: 29 years

What has done in the past year? The first of the Russian skiers won the stage race “Tour de Ski”.
