In a dominant display, France breezed past the United States with a straight-set victory, finishing with scores of 25-10, 25-17, and 25-12. The standout performance was by France’s Thomas Pujol, who was the only player in the match to score in double digits, racking up 14 points. Sean Kelly was the most effective on USA side with 9 points scored.
On the other side of the bracket, Iran showcased their resilience, fighting back from an initial set loss to clinch a 3-1 victory over Korea. The match scores were 18-25, 25-21, 25-20, and 25-16. Seyed Matin Hosseini Tolouti was the top scorer for Iran with 14 points, supported by Mohammadreza Alejalil and Morteza Narimani, each contributing 13 points. Despite the loss, Korean Yun Seojin shone, emerging as the match’s top scorer with 17 points, closely followed by Lee Woojin with 16.
