In a significant move for Italian volleyball, Ekaterina Antropova has successfully obtained Italian citizenship. The young opposite took the formal oath at the Scandicci Municipality, pledging allegiance to Italy’s Constitution and its laws.
This new status paves the way for Antropova to be enlisted under the Italian national team’s coach, Davide Mazzanti, for the Women’s European Championship.
An elated Ekaterina shared her feelings post the ceremony, “Today marks a day I’ve long awaited. My heartfelt gratitude goes out to the Italian Volleyball Federation, CONI President Giovanni Malagò, and Minister of Sport Andrea Abodi. I’m equally grateful to every institution and individual who stood by me during this time. The thrill of donning the Italian jersey and representing Italy on the field is something I eagerly look forward to.”
