At the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Women’s Volleyball Tournament, host nation China and Japan have paved their paths for an electrifying final showdown. This Saturday, two undefeated teams will meet in the grand final.
In the semifinals at Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Gymnasium, China demonstrated their prowess with a resounding 3-0 victory (25-21, 25-23, 25-15) over Asian champions, Thailand. This win brings the World No.6 team one step closer to defending their esteemed title.
Japan, on the other hand, proved their mettle by emerging victorious against Vietnam in a challenging four-set match with scores of 26-24, 25-21, 23-25, and 25-16. This triumph has a special significance for Japan as it marks their return to the Asian Games final after a hiatus of 17 years, the last being at the 2006 Doha Games in Qatar.
