In the Italian clash, Novara took a revenge to Imoco Volley for the defeat in the women’s Serie A1 playoff finals by beating them in four sets 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 14-25, 25-22).

The first two sets went well for Novara as they had a complete control, leaving no space for imoco Volley.

In the third set, we saw an answer from Imoco Volley, staying alive and in the race for the trophy. In this part of the game Novara had a huge perfromance drop. It seemed like they are preparing for the upcoming things in the fourth set.

The fourth set was the most uncertain part of the game and Novara managed to win it and to take the Champions League gold.

Paola Egonu was on fire with 27 points, while Michele Bartch-Hackley contributed with 21 points. In imoco, Karsta Lowe was the top scorer with 16 points.

Women’s Champions League Finals:

Novara – Imoco Volley 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 14-25, 25-22)

Congrats to Novara. Barbolini was not able to grab it, only for Galatasaray. Nice to see Egonu leaving a team with a crown.

Great game by Novara. Black Mamba was venomous and they made much better game than in Italian league where they lost Imoco. This is it, next year much teams will be different. Even Ezaci and Vakif made many transfers. Wondering if Veljkovic will stay in Novara since Mamba is leaving. Double trophy for Italy, well done. But i did like Novara team this year.

Egonu will now rule the women’s volleyball, both at clubs and national team level.
