CHN W: Tianjin and Shandong keep perfect records

Tianjin prevailed over Beijing in a derby of the fourth round of the second stage of the 2020/21 Chinese Women’s Volleyball Championship.

 

In the first three matches of the second stage of the 2020/21 Super League regular season for women, the titleholders Tianjin faced two other medalists from the last season. Two days ago, they swept vice-champions Shanghai, while today, in Round 4, they did the same to the bronze medalists Beijing: 3-0 (25-12, 25-21, 25-14).

Wang Yizhu top-scored Tianjin with 18 points. Meng Zixuan had 73 % reception (31 % perfect). Tianjin are at 3-0 and are one of the two undefeated sides in this stage of the competition, while Beijing suffered their first loss.

The other undefeated team is Shandong (4-0) who are also the leaders in the standings. Led in scoring with Qian Jiangwen (17 points) and in reception by Wang Mengjie (73 % reception; 67 % perfect), they downed Hebei.

In a big match, Shanghai beat Guangdong (first defeat) in four sets mostly thanks to Zhong Hui (19 points, 77 % reception; 55 % perfect). Qin Siyu made 4 blocks.
