Since there are no volleyball games since the beginning of March, a huge number of volleyball players can't wait to get back on the court.

That’s the case with Marcin Walinski, who can’t wait to play volleyball again.

Do you miss volleyball?

Of course. These are difficult moments for us players. The season was closed too early and in that case, the most important thing is health. Without health, we can’t do anything. We started fighting early with the virus and hope we going to end this situation soon.”

The coronavirus has prevented volleyball players from playing games and practicing. Have you managed to find a way to practice at home?

I am always finding a way to practice. If I don’t have weights in Zawiercie and I use my child or wife as weights, of course in a safe way. When we come back home I have around 100kg weights so it’s enough for my practice at home. About volleyball it’s almost impossible to do some normal things without net, volleyball court and balls, so only we can do some part of it.”

Is this situation with the COVID 19 coronavirus going to change some things in volleyball?

Some sponsors of the clubs might have less money because of this coronavirus situation and this, of course, can change the prices on the players market. Somebody will try to use this situation to change the contracts but for sure some clubs will fight to stay on the surface. Its different situation for every single club.”

You played in Zawiercie in the season 2019/2020. How would you rate your overall season?

I can’t rate myself. It’s not possible to do this in the right way. It’s better to ask my coach or my teammates. I always focus on my job and I always push myself to the limits because only hard work can give the best results. If you try to cheat you cheat not only yourself but also your teammates.”

What are your plans for the next season?

At this moment I don’t know. Coronavirus slows down everything. So, along with my new manager Georges Matijasevic we will try to find the best opportunities for me.”

Have you ever thought about playing abroad?

Yes! I would love to try to play abroad. Start from zero to show people outside Poland that not only players who are playing in the national team are valuable.”

Do you have some unfulfilled dreams in volleyball?

I want finally won some medal.”
