In the day’s other match, reigning African champions Kenya impressed the home crowd with a straight-sets (25-15, 25-21, 25-23) victory over Seychelles to emphasize their Olympic ambitions.

The competition features four teams competing for a single slot at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

In the first match, Algeria, supported by the home crowd, dominated at the net action for most of the match except the second set when Egypt improved their block.

Kenya were well on top in the second match thanks to their experienced players, most of whom were in the squad that won last year’s African Nations Championship and represented the continent in the World Cup.
