This is a very important game for us” says assistant coach Giovanni Torchio. “Noliko has a very good tradition in this competition and our goal is to make the next round. I am sure that VK OSTRAVA will be a tough opponent and we have a difficult match ahead. We have been working very hard to create the right chemistry in our group especially since there are seven new players playing for Noliko this year. We see that our performances have been improving and I hope the game with VK OSTRAVA will be the continuation of this trend” he added.
The Czech champions travel to Belgium in high spirits: “We have nothing to lose and we can exploit our position as underdog” stresses Czech mentor Zdenek Smejkal. “This match will be the next opportunity for my team to gain experience from this competition”.
VK OSTRAVA just won their last game in the Czech national league beating VSK STARE MESTO in straight sets while Noliko MAASEIK had to fight their way back from two sets down to edge Precura ANTWERP (21-25, 25-27, 25-22, 25-22, and 15-9).
