With a win over France, Ozzies have qualified for the World League final tournament for the first time ever! Their players and coaches just could not hide the joy after the match…
“We feel like we are on top of the world! This is the same feeling we had when we qualified for the Olympics, it’s something so big and so special for us. To be the underdogs and perform again is something special. We’ve become a whole different team, and it’s phenomenal. I’m so happy to be part of it” said Australian captain Aidan Zingel.
Coach Jon Uriarte added that he is impressed by this team:
“I couldn’t say two or three months ago that we were going to do something like this, but on the other hand I’ve got a big belief about the way we work. For 14 years we have been playing away, and finally at home we got a chance to show people how spectacular our sport is.”
