Dominican Republic’s captain Brayelin Martinez was elected the Most Valuable Player of the second edition of the Women’s U-23 Pan-American Cup 2014.

Towering outside hitter Brayelin Martinez , effectiveness was crucial for Dominican Republic’s second consecutive title who was also recognized with the awards for Best Scorer and Best Spiker of the event. She was joined by sister Jineiry Martinez as Best Blocker. 

Colombia also received several individual awards, captain Maria Marin was the Best Setter, while Camila Gomez received three awards: Best Libero, Best Receiver and Best Digger.

 From Cuba, the Best Opposite award was handed out to young Melissa Vargas and Regla Garcia received the award for Best Server. 

Also joining the podium of individual awards was Argentinian Camila Hiruela as second Best Spiker and Andrea Urrutia of Peru as Best Blocker (tied with Jineiry Martinez).
