Javier Weber, Argentina’s coach, said: “It was a dream and a very hard challenge. We controlled our nerves and we managed our limitations. We worked for four years and all it takes is three days for a team to go to the Olympic Games or stay at home.”
Argentina captain Rodrigo Quiroga added: “London is the dream of any athlete and I wanted to be at the Olympic Games ever since we missed out in 2008.”
