Garayev
Azerbaijan will be the host of mantioned tournament, but won’t be the main favorite:
“The results speak of themselves. Naturally, Serbia is the strongest on the paper, but we must not forget about Israel and Estonia, our two other rivals in Pool. Everybody will come to Baku to show good volleyball… The game will show who is the best” stated Faig Garayev, coach of Azerbaijan team.
Garayev added that so far, atmosphere in team is excellent, and expectations high:
“Everyone understands responsibility. Azerbaijan has two World Championship appearances so far, and we want to make a third, although we are in progress of changing generations. But, we have some experience players as Oksana Parkhomenko, who played on almost all big competitions, and Nataliya Mammadova, a leader of our attack and a player without whom I couldn’t imagine our team. With them and home crowd, I believe we can achieve our goal“.
