Cruzeiro did not publish anything on their website or social media regarding the doping case of their player and also Brazil National Team member, Rordiguinho, but addressed to media in the country explaining they will officially position themselves only upon having access to laboratory information and analysis, Globo Esporte informed. Cruzeiro stressed that no misuse of drugs or supplements by the players of the club has not been reported in the past 13 years.
“Sada Cruzeiro haven’t received official notification about the case. During the last 90 days, the athlete Rodriguinho has served the Brazilian team and the club will position itself only after having access to information and laboratory analysis to understand what happened. Sada Cruzeiro maintain a strict program of control and analysis of all athletes of their squad and haven’t recorded, in 13 years, no cases of misuse of medicines or supplements. Rodriguinho is a very serious and committed athlete. He has our confidence and we will support him so that the case can be properly clarified,” Cruzeiro wrote in their note to the media.
According to Cruzeiro’s press office, Rodriguinho continues with the normal activities at the club. The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) has not yet commented on the case.
