“It was the most serious injury I suffered in my career. Today I give priority to my knee and my physical condition. The club is giving me all the necessary treatments. I am very grateful.“
Despite all the gratitude, Herrera does not guarantee to stay in the club.
“I do not know what I’ll do. Praia Clube wants me to stay, Coach Spencer Lee thinks the same way, but honestly I think that is unlikely to happen.“
She wants to play in Europe.
“I always had the dream of playing in Europe. I received proposals from Russia, Turkey and Azerbaijan. Other than that, Japan is good in financial terms. I really want to have this experience and play in different centers. I’m 29 years old and I still have that goal.“
The player however prefers to be cautious and not determine the exact day she will start playing:
“I won’t hurry. As I said, I want to be 100% and the doctors told me I’ll be fine in 3 months. So I’ll be independent of the club when I’s signing my new contract.“
Herrera’s commitment to Praia Clube ends on April 30.
