However, at the press conference last Monday, Mari denied interest in playing for another country. “I would like to make it clear that I never said that I would play in the German national team. My family and blood are linked with Germany, but I will only wear the shirt of Brazil. I will not play for another country.“
Mari also said that she would have no problem in working with Zé Roberto again. The coach of the Brazilian Volleyball team also leads Amil, that reached the semifinals of the Superliga. She wants to return to Brazil after the season in Turkey. “Everything will depend on the proposals. I’l play for a team that I feel good in. If it is Ze’s team, I would have no problem” she said.
The 29 year old player has a contract with Fenerbahce until mid-May and should not renew it. Mari said she was approached by some Brazilian clubs, but is not yet in official. She will remain in Rio after her knee surgery.
