William Arjona confirmed the rumors – He will not play in the 2017 World League. William stated that it was his decision to take a little break from the national team.

Head coach Renan Dal Zotto talked with me a month ago and told me that this is the time of transition for our national team and that he will need help from the most experienced players. I explained to him that wearing the jersey of Brazil will always be an honor for me. However, in recent years I haven’t been able to spend time with my family. I promised them that I would take a vacation after the end of the season so that we could all be together. I cannot break that promise. Therefore, I will not play in the World League, but if Renan needs me for the South American Championship or World Grand Champions Cup, I will be available,” said William.
