Cannes and Nantes agreed to play only one match in the 1/16 finals of the 2021 Men’s Challenge Cup. The former prevailed after an exhausting fight, during which they had to chase the rival’s lead in sets two times, and will play in the next round: 3-2 (20-25, 25-18, 20-25, 30-28, 15-13).
It took Turkey’s Ziraat Bankası (the Dutchman Wouter Ter Maat 23 points, Bedirhan Bülbül 4 blocks) four sets to break the resistance of Portugal’s Fonte Bastardo Azores in the first match. The rematch is scheduled in two days.
