When you take a look at the results in the domestic league, you will see how well prepared they are for the final tournament of the elite European competition such as CEV Champions League.
Their goal is to repeat the season 2001/2002, when they managed to win the trophy. Now, they will have two barriers on their way to the European glory. Firstly, they will have to beat the host of the tournament, Sir Safety Conad Perugia and if they manage to do that, Lube will meet the winner of the clash Zenit Kazan – BR Volleys. The German team is underdog in this clash, so Lube could meet the reigning champions in the grand finale!
The team of Gianlorenzo Blengini is in the shape right now, which gives a huge hope to the fans of Lube. They’ve never been more ready and more prepared for the final four. The Bulgarian volleyball star Tsvetan Sokolov, the Cuban-born outsider hitter Osmany Juantorena, the U.S. setter Micah Christenson and one of the best liberos in the world Jenia Grebennikov know how to do it, as they have won many trophies in their careers.
Lube and Perugia have met each other three times so far this season. The number one team in a regular season of the Italian championship has won two last games, while Perugia took the win in the Italian Super Cup finals, at the beginning of the season.
Blengini will do what is needed to win the trophy, since he decided to leave the team at the end of the season.
Perugia is also chasing the European glory. Find out what are their advantages for the Final Four.
