At the ceremony held in the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg City, yesterday, three out of eight head coaches that will lead their teams in Ankara Qualification Tournament were present at the „Road To Rio“ event. Among them was Giovanni Guidetti, coach of the Dutch team.

“We had an amazing home tournament with the women’s EuroVolley in Holland where we performed really well. It was a great experience playing before so many fans, especially for the final weekend in Rotterdam. Our next stop will now be at the Olympic qualification tournament in Ankara; we know this is going to be an extremely difficult competition but also an unpredictable one, as I think everyone here will agree that it is almost impossible to determine who is going to win and make it to Rio. I expect I will have to deal with some emotional moments in Ankara since I will be playing my former team, Germany, which is now performing under the guidance of my former assistant of eight years, Felix Koslowski, and the match with Turkey will be an interesting one as well, since Ferhat (Akbaş) has been my assistant too and many of their players are currently on my team at VakifBank,“ Guidetti said.
