BLR M: Stroitel and Shakhter to fight for national title

Stroitel Minsk got stunned in Round 3 closing of the 2017/18 Belarusian men’s volleyball championship Division A semifinal series.

The runners-up Stroitel Minsk lost the last game of the regular stage to Zahidnii Bug Brest by a 3-2 (25-21, 20-25, 18-25, 25-20, 15-12) at home but secured a place in the playoff finals as the leaders of Pool A (semifinal series, the second stage of the tournament). Stroitel have 15 points and a 5-1 record.

In the rerun of the last season’s finals, Stroitel will face the titleholders Shakhter Saligorsk, who finished as No.1 in Pool B with 18 points and a 6-0 record. In the last round, they beat Legion Obukhovo in straight sets.

The best-of-five finals between Shakhter and Stroitel will start on April 14 at the home court of Shakhter, who earned a top-seed.
