Chaumont engaged three Cuban players for the next season of which two came from Argentina’s giants Bolívar Voley. These are outside hitter Osniel Melgarejo and opposite hitter Jesús Herrera. The latter was the top scorer of the championship counting points per set (5.83). The third Cuban that came to Chaumont is Roamy Alonso, the middle blocker who spent the last season in Italy’s Consar Ravenna.
All three players are members of the national team of their country, who failed to it qualify for the 2012 Tokyo Olympics.
