The top-seed VfB Friedrichshafen and No.2 Berlin Recycling Volleys closed their respective series of the 2017/18 Bundesliga playoff semifinals with a 2-0 and will cross swords for the championship title for the sixth time in a row.
This will be the eighth consecutive playoff finals for BR Volleys. They beat No.3 United Volleys Rhein-Main in straight sets in Game 2, partially 28-26, 27-25, 25-16.
As for Friedrichshafen, they won Game 2 against the fifth-seed Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching in three sets as well – 25-20, 25-20, 25-15. The Pole Bartłomiej Bołądź and Norwegian Andreas Takvam scored 15 points apiece for the winning side.
The best-of-five finals will be the chance for Friedrichshafen to win their 14th Bundesliga trophy, while BR Volleys chase their ninth.
