With this result PAOK – that recently signed Stelios Kazazis as their head coach – stopped its negative streak whereby the team had missed out on a spot for the finals of the national cup.

The guys from Greece’s second largest city stood out in every fundamental with Pandakidis top scoring with 14 points while Hatzieliadis (12), Kanellos and Armenakis (with 10 points apiece) also finished in double digits. Ioannis Takouridis and Ilias Lappas paced Foinikas with 13 points each.

“The last week did affect our morale and we felt a little down” head coach Kazazis says. “However, we could clean up our minds and could find our way back by winning this game chiefly via our block. We are taking it game after game and we do need to pay much respect and attention to our next opponents from Mylonas”.
