In fact, the World and Italian Champions will find themselves on Monday, August 19 at 4.30 PM at the “PalaTrento” to start training with a view to a season that promises to be challenging as much as the previous one, including competitions in Italian Serie A1, CEV Champions League, Club World Championship and Italian Super Cup.
Also, the participation in the Italian Cup could be added as one of the goals. Trentino will defend the trophy won in Milano on December 30, 2012.
The team will start working under the orders of the new coach Roberto Serniotti and fitness coach Martin Poeder.
At the beginning of the first seasonal gathering on Monday afternoon, the usual first half an hour will be dedicated to fans and press.
There will be many new faces, such as the setter Suxho and the spiker Ferreira (arriving in Trento in the next few hours), while De Paola, Fedrizzi and Thei will return to “PalaTrento” where they grew up.
A couple of players from the youth sector will be present at the first part of preparation and will have the task to numerically and qualitatively help the team already at work.
A few more weeks will be necessary to see Emanuele Birarelli, Filippo Lanza, Tsvetan Sokolov and Gabriele Nelli working in the jersey of Trentino Volley, considering that the first three will probably play in the European Championship with their national teams and will appear in Trento at the beginning of October. The landing of the young opposite Nelli won’t be until the end of August when the World Championship Under-21 in Turkey will be finished. There, he will compete in the jersey of Italy.
