These are days of great expectations from Sir Safety Perugia’a supporters. Wednesday (March 4) is indeed an important day for this Italian team since it will challenge Polish title holder PGE Skra Bełchatów in the first leg of the Champions League Playoff 6.

It is the last step before the Final Four in Berlin, scheduled later this month. That is the goal that seemed unattainable for Nikola Grbić’s protégés at the beginning of the season.

Grbić confirms in the statement for Perugia’s website that his team awaits the game in its best condition.

“It’s true, we are coming from a good period, with several victories and particularly the last one against Piacenza, that was very convincing for us. I think we will be ready and prepared for this game. Speaking about Bełchatów is easy – you just have to read the roster to understand how they got to this phase and why they won twice against Lube in the last round. They have a very fast play, many players that are individually of high level and this allows them to go without a champion like Winiarski. It will be a very, very, difficult match and also a difficult double game, but I am confident in our means and sure that we will do great on the field. Only the field can decide if this is enough to conquer the Final Four”.
