The club parted ways with Daniel Castellani and hired Slobodan Kovač, a Serbian coach who will therefore return to the place of his greatest success. Gino Sirci, the president of Sir Safety Perugia, stated that the change was inevitable.
“Daniel Castellani is a good person and a great coach, but the fifth place on the standings is not corresponding with our ambitions and plans. That is why we decided to make a change. We have agreed terms with Slobodan Kovač, a coach who has left a great mark on all of us during his first time in Perugia. The opportunity presented itself and we decided to grab it. We are talking about one of the best coaches in today’s volleyball,” said Sirci for the club’s official website.
Sir Safety Perugia wished all the best to Daniel Castellani in future career.

5. place after 9-10 matches? What is this president talking about? There are stil 20 and more games to be played and he’s already not satisfied…
They had opportunity to hire Kovac once again, and they did it. Guess that’s all.
What can a team do? Perugia is a very strong team, and so are Trentino, Modena, and Civitanova. But it doesnt mean that each team cannot be defeated by lower ranked teams anymore. If they ranked 5th at this round, its their fate. Coaches are there to guide but the whole games outcome still depend on how the players play their game.. It’s just that they want Kovac back. No issue of coaching..
its a bad move for the perugia president to change grbic. thats why the players need to adjust to castellani system, and bad thing about castellani he don’t know how to use his players like aaron russell seriously, aaron russell in one of the great players in this generation but because of fromm injury thats why he gave him a playing time. which is suck he don’t know what his players strength
