The Italian Men’s Volleyball Championship Serie A1 club Calzedonia Verona added two new players to the training for the next season.

Two receivers, a 24-year-old Slovenian Jan Klobučar and a 36-year-old American Ryan Jay Owens, joined preparations of Verona for the next season. It is not known if they came for a tryout or just to maintain their shape and help Italian club to have more players at the training.

Klobučar has spent last season in the German United Volleys RheinMain, being involved in two upsetting situations outside of volleyball courts in past year. Firstly, he had health issues as he got an infection before the Rio Olympics (fortunately it was not a Zika virus, as it was initially reported) while he was attacked in the nightclub in Germany and had to undergo facial surgery in February 2017. As for Owens, he was last active in 2015/16 while playing for the Finnish side Hurrikaani Loimaa. Now, he runs a volleyball agency.
