Liaoning stunned Beijing in Round 4 of the 2020/21 Chinese Women’s Volleyball Championship.

Beijing didn’t start the 2020/21 Super League regular season for women according to their reputation but also expectations, which reach up to the title. In Round 4 of Pool B, the team from the country’s capital fell to Liaoning in straight sets and is now at 2-2. Duan Fang led Liaoning in scoring with 15 points. It’s still unknown when will Beijing be able to count on the services of a foreign duo Bjelica – Dixon.

Shanghai kept the perfect score (4-0) but only after barely surviving an inspiring play of Shandong: 3-2 (17-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-25, 16-14). American Jordan Larson tallied 25 points and had 85 % reception (85 % perfect) for the winning side, while Zhang Yuqian made 4 blocks.

In Pool A, in which Round 5 was held, Tianjin and Guangdong swept their rivals, Sichuan and Zhejiang, respectively.
