Spanish giants are back. The club that ruled the country in the 90s (5 championship titles in a row from 1990 to 1994), CV Guaguas beat Urbia U Energia Vóley Palma in the final of the 2021 Copa de SM el Rey by a 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-14). Thus, they won the competition first time after 24 years.

The Las Palmas team, who hosted Final Four, has returned to the map of Spanish volleyball last summer. Guaguas shut down in 2008, having previously collected 5 championship titles, 6 national cups, and 1 Super Cup. As for the match itself, Argentine Pablo Kukartsev scored 20 points on the winning side and was named MVP of the tournament. Brazilian Moisés Cézar made 6 blocks.
