Fatum Nyíregyháza won the title in the 2020/21 Hungarian Women’s Volleyball Championship by a walkover in the playoff finals.

Fatum Nyíregyháza won their 6th women’s championship title in Hungary. However, the circumstances that led to this success were a part of the new normality coronavirus brought us.

The rivals of Fatum Nyíregyháza (regular-season winners) in the 2020/21 Extraliga playoff finals, the 2nd-seed Swietelsky-BRSE (commonly known as Békéscsabai), struggled with the cases of Covid-19 within their team due to which Nyíregyháza won first 2 games with a forfeit. Given that Békéscsabai were unable to come to Game 3 as well, and there’s no more time in the schedule (the FIVB set April 18 as the last date for the completion of national leagues), Nyíregyháza were awarded a title.
