The Serbian outside hitter Jelena Blagojevic has decided to end her national team career!
“I am part of the group of these older players in the team so I have some other life priorities now. I want to try some new things next year and I have different plans compared to those ones that I have had so far. I am happy and satisfied for being a part of great success, for being a teammate of these great players. It was an honor. And who knows, maybe one day, I will be in the national team again, in some other role…” says Jelena Blagojevic for the Serbian website mozzartsport.com.
Throughout her national team career (since 2012), she always gave her best no matter playing as an outside hitter or libero. She won two gold medals and one silver at the EuroVolley, while she won one Olympic bronze – which is the highlight of her career.
Serbia have also stayed without two middle blockers this summer as Milena Rašić and Stefana Veljković have retired from the national team.
