“I think Brazilians didn’t give 100% in this game. They think that they are too strong team. But, they forgot we have won more points than them in four matches! We took seven, Brazil five! I’m angry on my players and their way of playing in the last two sets. Less talks – more work! I have to organize some meeting and to explain them something! Of course, I’m happy because we achieved a great result! We should have won the match against Russia but we have a problem with mentality! We are trying to fix it. We will try to beat USA in the semifinal game. I’m hungry for success and I will try to transfer it on my players!
How do you feel in Iran?
“Very well. Volleyball is now the most popular sport in Iran and people treat us like big stars! A lot of people want to take picture with us.
Do you regret leaving Perugia?
“Yes, but on the other side, you can’t achieve something like this with a club! I have a deal with Iranian volleyball federation, which means, I can’t take over the club as long as I’m head coach of Iran”
